Bengals News: Andy Dalton must be better, says OC Hue Jackson

In Bengals news today, new Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson is taking to the media to light a fire under Bengals starting quarterback Andy Dalton.

Per Chris Wesseling of NFL.com, Hue Jackson believes that it is time for Andy Dalton to step up his game when it comes to the NFL Playoffs, and big games in general:

"Obviously that's the hump that we're trying to get over," Jackson stated on SiriusXM NFL Radio. "And I think the guy has the makeup to do it."

Jackson believes that Dalton's struggles come from hitches in his mechanics which cause him to get out of his game at certain points in pressure situations. Jackson is ready to fix that as soon as he can --

"Just go back to the fundamentals that you use playing the game," Jackson said, "from how you get under center, how you take a snap, the sense of urgency in your drop, where we're putting our eyes, how we're finishing our throws, our progress."

If all of this pans out, Cincinnati Bengals fans may be looking at a new, improved version of Andy Dalton come the start of the 2014 NFL season.
