Cincinnati football fans wanted more, and deserved better, than what they saw from a putrid Bearcats offense against the No. 6 Houston Cougars.
While no one thought this would be an easy game for the Bearcats, it was clear – even well into the third quarter – that Cincy could hang with this tough Houston team.
Then the meltdown started.
Bonehead plays, turnover after turnover, and suddenly the Bearcats went from a 2-point third quarter lead to being lambasted by the Cougars in a 40-16 loss. Tommy Tuberville’s offense looked unprepared, bland and inept through the entire night.
