CINCINNATI - The wide-casting net of Luke Fickell continues to spread around the I-275 belt and surrounding areas as the University of Cincinnati picked up another top-notch local recruit in Ja'Von Hicks from Colerain High School Sunday.
Hicks is listed as an athlete by recruiting sites like 247Sports but was a wide receiver/defensive back for Tom Bolden's Colerain Cardinals. Playing in an offense that primarily ran the triple-option, Hicks did catch 15 passes for 314 yards and four touchdowns during the regular season and had four grabs for 68 yards and a score in the postseason.
"They told me I'd either play receiver or safety," Hicks said.
