Officially, Yoan Moncada was 0-for-2 during his Chicago White Sox debut on Wednesday night, but the No. 1 prospect in baseball was a big hit at the box office and with local TV ratings.
The Sox said they sold nearly 5,000 tickets from the time they announced Moncada was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday night until game-time on Wednesday.
Moncada drew a standing ovation from the crowd of 24,907 when he stepped to the plate in the second inning at Guaranteed Rate Field and then again when he worked a walk off Los Angeles Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda.
