Free agent right-hander Mat Latos has reached agreement on a one-year, $3 million contract with the Chicago White Sox, a baseball source told ESPN.com Tuesday.
Latos, 28, is 64-55 with a 3.51 ERA over parts of seven big-league seasons with San Diego, Cincinnati, Miami and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He is looking to bounce back after posting a 4-10 record with a 4.95 ERA with the Marlins and Dodgers in 2015.
Latos will compete for a spot in a Chicago rotation that currently consists of Chris Sale, Jose Quintana, John Danks, Carlos Rodon and Erik Johnson.
