Q&A with Tim Anderson: How a junior college prospect became a building block

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Tim Anderson will be the first to tell you he's just getting started. It wasn't until his junior year of high school, and after two severe leg injuries, that he switched his primary focus from basketball to baseball.

But despite the late start to his career and light recruitment out of high school, he stands at the center of the White Sox youth movement after a successful rookie season that established him as the franchise's shortstop of the future. Anderson talked to The Athletic about his path to get here, his endless optimism, and his future in Chicago.
