One of White Sox catcher Geovany Soto's tasks after returning from the disabled list last week was to get up to speed with right-hander Mike Pelfrey.
Soto is in his 13th major-league season, so he has experience working with newcomers on the fly. And as Pelfrey pointed out this week, it helps that Soto has hit well against him in the past (6-for-11, one homer, five RBIs).
"We've been competing against each other for a long time, so I'm pretty familiar with what he throws," Soto said. "He gets me out as much as I've gotten hits off him, so I think everything is even.
