Jose Abreu Unanimously Voted AL Rookie of the Year

Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu was unanimously selected as the AL Rookie of the Year by the Baseball Writer's Association of America.

Abreu, who is from Cuba, signed with the White Sox in the offseason. 

He hit .317 on the year with 36 home runs and 107 RBIs while leading the American League in slugging percentage and OPS.

Abreu got all 30 first-place votes. Angels pitcher Matt Shoemaker finished second and Yankees reliever Dellin Betances finished third.
