Hawk Harrelson to miss White Sox road trip due to procedure

The White Sox announced Sunday that play-by-play announcer Ken “Hawk” Harrelson will miss the team's upcoming 11-game road trip due to a minor surgical procedure.

The 73 year old has been the voice of the White Sox for more than three decades.

Bulls radio broadcaster Chuck Swirsky will fill in while Harrelson is absent.

The White Sox head to Toronto to kick off a three-game series with the Blue Jays on Monday, that game airing on CSN, before a double-header against the Orioles in Baltimore to make up for two postponed games earlier this year. The South Siders then face two American League West opponents, the Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers, to wrap up their extended road trip.
