TRADE: Fire deal No. 3 overall pick to NYCFC for $250K in General Allocation Money

Possessing the No. 3 overall selection in Friday's 2017 MLS SuperDraft, the Chicago Fire opted to send the pick to New York City FC in exchange for a sum of $250,000 in General Allocation Money. MLS Commissioner Don Garber announced the deal at the draft podium at the Los Angeles.

As it stands, Chicago is next slated to pick at the No. 11 position. The Fire do not currently have a second round selection, having sent its natural pick (No. 25 overall) to Minnesota in exchange for the rights to midfielder Juninho.
