Padres Non-Tender RHP Tyson Ross

Padres non-tender Tyson Ross, right-hander becomes free agent

Friday (7:00pm CST) was the deadline for teams to tender contracts to players for the 2017 season and the biggest surprise of the night came out of San Diego when the Padres announced the team did not offer a contract to RHP Tyson Ross.

Ross was the Padres Opening Day starter, the only game he appeared in during the 2016 season. Ross landed on the DL with shoulder inflammation. Ross had surgery on Oct. 13 for thoracic outlet syndrome, which is a four to six months recovery.
