Late meltdown puts Bulls on brink of elimination vs. Celtics

BOSTON — For a little while, whatever the Bulls’ crazy plan was seemed to be working. Isaiah Canaan was playing solid defense on Isaiah Thomas, Robin Lopez turned back into Wilt Chamberlain after two off nights, and Anthony Morrow even made an appearance. As improbable as it seemed, the Bulls could have gone back home with a 3-2 series lead over the No. 1 seed Boston Celtics, an outcome that would have made no sense and all of the sense at the same time, given this team’s predisposition to doing exactly the opposite of what anybody expects, good and bad.
