When the Chicago Blackhawks were winning Stanley Cups, the one thing people would say about the team is the fact they still had tons of talent to call up if needed.
Players like Brandon Saad and Teuvo Teravainen were in the system while the Hawks were winning games and titles, but those days are a distant memory.
The top players in the system probably haven’t even played for the Hawks or played limited minutes this spring and that would be Nick Schmaltz and Tyler Motte.
Schmaltz could be a huge piece of the puzzle heading into the 2016-2017 season with him probably getting every chance possible at one of the two center positions on the bottom six.
