1. The Blackhawks jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind goals by Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. On the first goal, Richard Panik passed the puck to Nick Schmaltz near the left boards to enter the offensive zone. Schmaltz swung the puck diagonally across the ice to Toews, who was streaking to the net. Toews put a move on Blues goalie Jake Allen and scored at 4:18 of the first period. Toews and Kane worked a give-and-go on a power play rush, and Kane finished from the left circle at 11:44 of the first period.
