Chelsea expect to get their summer transfer activity going this week by completing the £35.2million signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko on a five-year contract, as revealed by Sportsmail last week.
Antonio Conte is determined to start adding to his squad and the Premier League champions are hopeful of sealing the switch as soon as possible.
Manchester United were also interested in Bakayoko, the 22-year-old midfielder who helped Monaco win the Ligue 1 title last season.
Chelsea boss Conte knows he has to bring in talent with Champions League football on the calendar next season.
