Chelsea defender David Luiz 'loves the responsibility' of being captain... but expects Gary Cahill to inherit John Terry's armband

It is a mark of the transformation of David Luiz for him to be even mentioned as captaincy material as Chelsea start life after John Terry.

Luiz expects the formal honour will go to Gary Cahill, stepping up from vice-captain, but the Brazilian is prepared to inherit his share of responsibilities and his personality will help fill the void.

'I think it continues to be Gary, why not?' said Luiz. 'But it's not about the armband, it's about your leadership every day and your discipline and the way you try to help the team.
