Many were surprised with how far Malik Monk fell in the 2017 NBA Draft. Even the Kentucky product was shocked that so many teams passed on him. Luckily for the Charlotte Hornets, the projected top-10 pick was still available later in the lottery and they selected him at No. 11.

Monk believed that the New York Knicks would take him at eighth overall. His agent, family and everyone in his agency all thought the team from NY would take the shooting guard. Instead, they opted for Frank Ntilikina because of concerns over Malik’s size and defense.
