Charlotte Hornets: City Council Extends All-Star Contract to 2019

The City Council for Charlotte, North Carolina voted on the contract for the 2019 All-Star Game on Monday, August 22nd. They agreed to keep the same incentives in place that why had agreed upon for the 2017 All-Star Game before it was moved. (CharlotteObserver.com) The league has previously said that there is a possibility that the 2019 All-Star Game will be hosted by the Charlotte Hornets and the city.

They had won the bid for the 2017 All-Star Game but it was moved by the NBA because of the controversial House Bill 2. The league instead decided to have the game played in New Orleans, Louisiana.
