Hornets Free Agency Rumors Roundup For July 4th

Our nation's birthday brings with it the news that LaMarcus Aldridge is taking his talents to San Antonio, but there's plenty of other intrigue to be had -- ESPECIALLY surrounding the Charlotte Hornets. Here's our Hornets Free Agency Rumors Roundup For July 4th.

Hornets Willing To Sign-And-Trade Mo Williams

The Charlotte Hornets are, by all accounts, set to part ways with veteran point guard Mo Williams, but that doesn't mean that they're going to go empty-handed if he departs.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, "Charlotte has shown a strong willingness to use its free agent guard Mo Williams in a sign-and-trade, league sources tell Yahoo."

The Memphis Grizzlies are the latest team to be connected to Williams in free-agent negotiations, so keep an eye on them and the usual suspects (Knicks, Lakers, etc.) as this situation develops.

Bismack Biyombo Heads North

The Toronto Raptors struck an agreement with unrestricted free agent Bismack Biyombo Saturday on a two-year, $6 million deal, per Wojnarowski. The Hornets elected not to extend him a qualifying offer before free agency began, allowing to test the free agency waters in an unrestricted capacity.

Biyombo is an extremely limited commodity on offense, but he will provide the Raptors with needed rim protection and overall restricted-area defense off the bench.
