KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Sophomore Keon Howe continued his streak of dominance in the men's pole vault as he broke another Charlotte track & field record at the University of Tennessee's Rust Buster meet on Saturday.

The Charlotte native topped the field of 14 jumpers with height of 5.10 meters (16'8.75") to become the first 49er to eclipse the 5-meter mark in the outdoor men's pole vault. He surpasses Kevin Calhoun's 2014 record of 4.98 meters. Howe also holds the Charlotte indoor men's pole vault record after leaping 5.22 meters this fall.

After breaking a school record of his own at the 49er Classic last weekend, sophomore Stevan Veselinovic got the day started in style by winning the men's hammer with a throw of 65.
