Charlotte, N.C. - Charlotte 49ers freshman forward Najee Garvin (Lexington, S.C.) was named Conference USA Freshman of the Week after his performances in the 49ers victories over Appalachian State, James Madison and Oregon State.
Garvin scored 10 points with six rebounds against Appalachian State last Monday. Garvin then made his first career start in the 49ers win over James Madison last Wednesday, adding eight points and four rebounds. Against Oregon State this past Saturday, he tossed in six points and grabbed two rebounds, while connecting on two crucial free throws in the closing minutes of the win.
