BILOXI, Miss. – Backed by eight strong innings from freshman starter Matt Brooks, and a pair of three-run innings by the offense, Charlotte baseball rolled a 7-2 victory over fifth-seeded Louisiana Tech in the 2017 Conference USA Championship opener, presented by The First, a National Banking Association. Brett Netzer led the 49ers offense with three hits finishing a double shy of the cycle while driving in and scoring on his own three times. Charlotte will now take on the #8 seed UTSA after the Roadrunners dispatched top-seeded Southern Miss 9-2 earlier on Wednesday.
