Chippewas Look To Conintue Ascension

Peter McGahey embraces the challenge, and so do his players.

McGahey and his Central Michigan women’s soccer team open the season this weekend with a trip to Lawrence, Kan., for the Rock Chalk Invitational on the campus of the University of Kansas.

The Chippewas will play Tulsa on Friday at 5 p.m. EDT, and the host Jayhawks on Sunday (2 p.m.).

CMU returns one of the nation’s most-explosive players in junior Lexi Pelafas, who last season set program records with 16 goals and 35 points.
