For the third-straight season, Case Western Reserve University senior pitcher Jake Shields earned American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Mideast Region honors, claiming a spot on the Third Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
Shields had previously been named to the ABCA All-Mideast Region Third Team in both 2015 and 2016, while also earning All-University Athletic Association First Team recognition earlier this year, and all-conference second team honors in 2015 and 2016.
Shields was a two-time University Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week during the season, and at one point, recorded a stretch of 36.
