Panthers Summer of Extensions Continues

It’s been a busy few months for the Carolina Panthers front office, as Kurt Coleman’s recent contract extension of three years has continued the trend of the summer for General Manager Dave Gettleman.

Heading into the off-season, the Panthers had the rare luxury of having very few key players that were about to hit free agency. Most of the core, including Cam Newton, Luke Kuechly and Greg Olsen are locked in until at least 2019, which offered those in the boardroom an opportunity to look ahead to next year’s impending free agents.

Another event which had to take place to allow the front office to focus on those in their contract years was the departure of Josh Norman.
