Panthers NFL Draft: Top-10 Running Back Returns

The Carolina Panthers have expressed wanting to generate more two running back and tight end sets on offense to alleviate the need for quarterback Cam Newton running the football. Over the past season, Newton took punishing hit after hit both inside and outside the pocket.

For his personal sustainability and the benefit of Carolina, another option is needed in the backfield to help the power running game be successful. By all accounts general manager Dave Gettleman will address the need in the upcoming NFL Draft, but it may not be with Carolina’s top ten pick.

In the past ten years only six running backs have been selected in the Top-10 with varying results.
