With all that has been going on around the Carolina Panthers – the final week of the preseason, roster cuts to get down to the final roster looming, injuries to key individuals – you might have missed that Derek Anderson signed a two-year contract extension with the Panthers.
Anderson is clearly a valuable piece to the success of the Panthers, both on and off the field. His veteran leadership has an impact on Cam Newton, as well as other young players on the roster for the Panthers, plus Anderson is able to step in at key moments if the Panthers need, like in 2014 when he went 2-0 when Cam was injured.
