For the past few years, the Carolina Panthers’ defense has been regarded as one of the best in the NFL. The team’s defense should continue their streak of excellence in 2015. Nevertheless, the defense struggled with inconsistency and missed tackles during the 2014 season. The linebacker corps is the stalwart of the entire unit. And though last season’s defensive line failed to replicate its impressive 2014 season with Greg Hardy, the line still performed well—and at times, even exceeded expectations. The secondary, on the other hand, was an obvious weak-point to an otherwise first-rate defensive unit.
