3 Players The Carolina Panthers Could Take With The No. 8 Pick In The 2017 NFL Draft

The Carolina Panthers hold the No. 8 pick in the NFL Draft after a disappointing 2016 campaign, and this team is looking to add an impact player that can make a major contribution next season. Here are three players the Panthers should target with that pick:

1) O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama

The Panthers are going to go best player available, as they always do. In this case, there's a good chance that is Howard. He could form a dynamic two tight end offense with Greg Olsen before taking over for him. Cam Newton needs more weapon, and Howard has all of the physical tools to be a star.

2) Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee

Pass rusher is definitely a need for Carolina after they surprisingly couldn't get consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks last year, and Barnett was an insanely productive pass rusher for the Vols. Remember, both Mario Addison and Charles Johnson are free agents.

3) Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU

Another offensive option for Carolina, how about the Panthers form an even more terrifying back field with Fournette? There's some injury worries here, but Fournette is the best RB prospect since Adrian Peterson. He would have been picked before Ezekiel Elliott. Jonathan Stewart's career is definitely on the decline, and this would help the Panthers' offense.
