Like every game on this road trip, the Carolina Hurricanes put their best defensive foot forward. To their credit, they got a point out of their trip to Boston, but it really could have been a victory for the Canes. The Hurricanes fell in the shootout 2-1 with 20 year old David Pastrnak getting the game winner.
Things started well enough for Carolina. After leading in shots after the 1st period, Boston native Noah Hanifin beat former Cane Anton Khudobin from the point with a bomb. Hanifin worked on his shooting over the summer and it is already starting to show itself this season.
