Many of the same people who wrote positive things about Eric Staal when he was traded turned around and started writing about how he shouldn’t be signed a month later. If you look at what he can offer the team, its a no brainer for GM Ron Francis to sign him this offeseason.
The Hurricanes needs this offseason is goaltending and top six forwards. Eric Staal could return to the team at a much cheaper rate than the $8.25 mil AAV from his last contract.
When looking at Eric’s performance last season he had 39 points (13g, 26a) in 83 games played.
