When you think the Carolina Hurricanes, you don’t think of a rivalry. It’s not like when you think Pittsburgh you think the battle of Pennsylvania; or the Rangers and Islanders, you think the battle of New York. Well the Carolina Hurricanes don’t have another in state NHL team to be rivals with, heck the closest team are the Washington Capitals.
They are approximately four hours and some change away from PNC Arena in Raleigh, and that is by driving. So here lies the question, do we pull from what we know? Which is every team we’ve played in previous playoff rounds and Stanley Cup Finals are now deemed our rivals or do we take the closest team who is not only in our division but also closest to us, and seem them our only rivals?
