The Carolina Hurricanes are trying to pull themselves back up to .500, but to do so they’ll have to beat the Detroit Red Wings. This is the last hurrah for the old Joe Louis. Built in 1979, the Red Wings played at the Joe Louis Arena up until the end of this year. Next year they’ll be moving into the newly constructed Little Caesars Arena. So what better way to commemorate the place closing down than a repeat of the way the Carolina Hurricanes franchise opened it up:
