The Carolina Hurricanes are slated to play the New York Rangers in the season home opener. To me, it’s a bit awkward. If the Rangers decide to resign Eric Staal this would be his first Carolina Hurricanes home opener in the opponents uniform. Also, even if we did resign Eric, he would be playing against his former team of two months. Even more so, Jordan Staal will be against his brother Marc, and possibly Eric as well; and vice versa. Their home opener is scheduled for October 28th.
The Carolina Hurricanes will begin the season on a prolonged road trip that will take them across Western Canada and back East into the United States.
