Canes Wrap Up Activity at 2016 NHL Draft

RALEIGH, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday used their seven picks in Rounds 2-7 of the 2016 NHL Draft to add four forwards, two goaltenders and one defenseman to the organization’s depth chart. The players join defenseman Jake Bean (13th overall, Calgary – WHL) and forward Julien Gauthier (21st overall, Val d’Or – QMJHL), whom the team selected on Friday, to round out the Hurricanes’ nine-player 2016 draft class.

Carolina used its first pick of the draft’s second day (second round, 43rd overall) to select forward Janne Kuokkanen from Karpat Jr. of the Finnish Junior League.
