Canes Name Justin Faulk Alternate Captain

He's already an Olympian, an All-Star, a role model in the Raleigh community, and the franchise's record-holder for single season scoring by a defenseman, and today Justin Faulk took the next step in his Hurricanes leadership track when he was named an alternate captain for the 2015-16 season.

The 23-year-old defenseman begins his fifth season with the Hurricanes, and led the team last season in ice time (24:25 TOI average) and set career highs in goals (15) and points (49). He, along with veteran defensemen James Wisniewski and John-Michael Liles, recently launched the 'True Defenders' program to honor local military personnel.
