Four years after being oft-criticized draft pick, Mark Jankowski being touted as promising Calgary Flames player of the future

GLENDALE, Ariz. — There are two sets of numbers to take note of regarding Mark Jankowski.

The first is his burgeoning offensive production this season. The 2012 first-round draft choice is in the midst of a breakout campaign for the Providence Friars, having netted seven goals and 15 points in 11 games for the NCAA’s top-ranked squad.

“I’m trying to make an impact every time I’m on the ice,” said Jankowski, who seemingly has been in the Calgary Flames system for an eternity but only celebrated his 21st birthday in September. “I know if I’m on the ice and I’m a threat, the points will come if I’m playing well.
