Newly-signed Flames D Dougie Hamilton shrugs off critical story out of Boston

It looks like D-Day came just in time for the Calgary Flames to prevent any worries about an offer sheet coming into their world.

The Flames have reportedly signed newly acquired defenceman Dougie Hamilton to a long-term contract Tuesday, a six-year pact worth US$34.5 million, or US$5.75 million per season.

Hamilton, who turned 22 this month, is coming off a 10-goal, 42-point season with the Boston Bruins, from whom the Flames acquired him last weekend in exchange for a first-round draft pick and pair of second-round selections.
