NEW YORK - Steven Stamkos might have earned himself a new nickname in these playoffs.
If so, he’ll probably wear it like a badge.
After the morning skate, a reporter asked Tampa centre Brian Boyle about the physical “G.I. Joe” style in which Stamkos has played against the Rangers.
“I think he’s always showed that in his game,” Boyle said after a snicker. “He competes. He’s always competed. In the playoffs, he (cranks) it up a little. He’s led the way for us in that regard. He’s our captain.”
