The Tampa Lightning gets it. Henrik Lundqvist has success in the New York Rangers net in crucial games.
“He is a great goaltender,” Lightning captain Steven Stamkos said Friday following the morning skate at Madison Square Garden.
“He has never played the Tampa Bay Lightning in a Game 7 before so that’s how we’re approaching it.”
Lundqvist will try to become the first goalie in NHL history to win seven Game 7s when the teams meet in the deciding game of the Eastern Conference final on Friday night. He is 6-1 in Game 7s and has won six in a row.
