PROVO — Forward Eric Mika is doing everything he can in the paint to help BYU win games.
The 6-foot-10, 230-pound sophomore is coming off a career-high 29-point performance in last Saturday’s 91-84 loss to USC at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. On the season, Mika is almost averaging a double-double.
But he simply isn’t getting much help from the outside.
Going into the season, it figured that 3-point shooting would be a strength for the Cougars (5-3).
So far, that hasn’t been the case.
As a team, BYU is shooting 29 percent (48 of 165) from 3-point range.
