BYU notebook: BYU defense to face another up-tempo offense this week vs. Toledo

PROVO — BYU’s defense is expected to be tested again this week by an explosive team with an up-tempo approach.

The Cougars take on Toledo, which is among the nation’s leaders in numerous offensive categories. Quarterback Logan Woodside is No. 1 in the nation in passing efficiency. He has thrown 11 touchdown passes and only one interception.

The Rockets, like BYU’s opponent last week, West Virginia, like to play fast.

Mountaineer quarterback Skyler Howard completed 31 of 40 passes for 332 yards against the Cougars.
