BYU football’s newest coach is Sam Fehoko.
The news came on Twitter and on Sam’s Instagram page.
Sam is the older brother of Breiden Fehoko, a four-star defensive tackle who is transferring from Texas Tech.
The Fehoko family is revered in Lubbock, with Sam, Breiden and their other brother V.J. all playing for the Red Raiders at some point.
Sam was embraced by Texas Tech fans because of his intensity on the field. After leaving in 2011 to pursue the NFL, he returned to get his degree in 2014.
He spent last season as a defensive graduate assistant for Texas Tech.
