INDIANAPOLIS – LaVall Jordan has a poetic expression for steps of a coaching transition: storm’n, norm’n and performin’.

The new Butler basketball coach remains in storm stage — Thursday was Day 16 since he was introduced at a news conference — and it will be months before there is a new norm. Not until November will it really be time to perform. Fortuitously for him, and the Bulldogs, he endured a similar scenario 14 months ago upon taking over at Milwaukee.

That does not make Jordan, 38, an experienced head coach.
