INDIANAPOLIS – Conventional wisdom is that college basketball players should submit their names for the NBA draft, not hire an agent, go through the pre-draft process, pull their names out before the deadline.
Kelan Martin was having none of it.
The upcoming Butler senior would like to reach the NBA, but only when ready. He did not need workouts with pro teams to convince himself. So he won’t be waiting around Thursday night to hear his name called in the NBA draft.
“I had a lot to focus on this spring and summer to expand my game even more,” said Martin, a 6-6 forward from Louisville, Ky.
