INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler Bowl is being renamed in honor of a $9.4 million gift from the estate of Winstan R. “Bud” Sellick and his wife, Jacqueline.

The gift is being shared by Butler athletics, the Lacy School of Business and general university support.

The Butler Bowl, which opened in 1928, is the Bulldogs’ home for football and soccer. It will become the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl at the Sept. 16 home football opener against Taylor. The Champions Room at the bowl and registrar’s office also will be named for the Sellicks.

Bud Sellick, a 1947 Butler graduate, died March 30, 2015.
