Southampton 3-1 Burnley: Charlie Austin's double hands Saints a routine victory against Clarets as Claude Puel's side move into top half

Southampton started the match on the front foot and should have gone into half-time ahead but the likes of Dusan Tadic and Charlie Austin squandered chances thanks to the brilliance of Tom Heaton in the Burnley goal.

However, Austin gave the Saints the lead with a scrappy near range finish early in the second half. Moments later, Nathan Redmond scored Southampton's second with a fierce right footed shot.

Austin then added to his tally from the penalty spot after Sam McQueen was hauled down in the area by Berg Gudmundsson. Burnley then pulled one back from the spot as well, through Sam Vokes.
