Shamrock Rovers 0-4 Burnley: Sean Dyche's side start pre-season with a win as former Stoke man Jon Walters nets opener in Dublin rout

There will be bigger assignments for Burnley this coming season but there was delight all-round as Sean Dyche's men made a winning start to their pre-season by beating their Dublin hosts Shamrock Rovers.

Burnley started the brighter against their Dublin hosts with Steven Defour finding Walters on the edge of the box, but the Irish striker fired his effort over with barely 60 seconds gone.

It wasn't long before the Lancastrian's pressure told with former Stoke City man Jon Walters opening the scoring on nine minutes.
