Sabres sign Johan Larsson to two-year extension

The Sabres avoided arbitration with Johan Larsson, signing him to a cap-friendly two-year deal with an average salary of $1.475 million this afternoon.

Larsson, 24, played 36 games before his season was cut short when he dislocated his elbow and wrist in January. He scored six goals and five assists.

He’s played 178 games in the NHL, with all but one being with the Sabres, and notched 22 goals and 26 assists.

The deal is a slight raise for Larsson, who made $950k a year on his last deal.

The Sabres have four remaining restricted free agents: Nathan Bealieu, Zemgus Girgensons, Robin Lehner and Evan Rodrigues.
