Buffalo Sabres netminder Robin Lehner will be heading to the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
After a season where he saw limited playing time due to injuries with the Buffalo Sabres, Lehner bounced back enough to impress the folks in charge, being named one of the final players on the roster for Team Sweden.
Lehner will join Henrik Lundqvist and Jacob Markstrom as the netminders for the Swedish team.
The entirety of the Swedish team is made up of NHL players.
On defense, the Swedes have Tampa Bay’s Victor Hedman and Anton Stralman; Detroit’s Niklas Kronwall, Ottawa’s Erik Karlsson, Chicago’s Niklas Hjalmarsson, Arizona’s Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Nashville’s Mattias Ekholm.
